Your Finished Kefir

Your Finished Kefir

Storing your finished Kefir in the refrigerator slows down the fermentation process. Even in the refrigerator, the kefir will continue to ferment and start to separate (kefir and whey). When that happens, just shake the jar carefully before drinking to mix it up. Just be careful though, because the kefir is fermented and will have some pressure built up in the jar.

You can take the finished kefir and blend it up in a blender with some fresh or frozen fruit and a sweetener (like stevia) to make a delicious drink. Drink right away or put back in the refrigerator to drink later.

You can also add the kefir to smoothies. See the Q&A section for more ideas on how you can use kefir!
